Los Angeles County Detention Services Officer Job Description Are you looking for a rewarding career in law enforcement? Consider becoming a Los Angeles County Detention Services Officer. To qualify for this position, you must be 21 years of age, have a valid California driver’s license, and possess a high school diploma or GED. You should also have some experience in a law enforcement or correctional facility. You’ll need to pass a background investigation and physical examination as part of the hiring process. Los Angeles County Detention Services Officers must be organized and efficient, and be able to handle stressful situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
